Body found along east bank of Cowlitz River in Kelso
Officials are investigating the death and identity of a woman after her body was discovered on the bank of the Cowlitz River Tuesday evening in Kelso.

A caller reported seeing a body entangled in the bushes along the east side of the river, north of the residential area of Mill Street and Riverside Drive, according to a Kelso Police press release.
The caller estimated the body was 100 yards north of the intersection.
Police were dispatched at about 4:22 p.m. and used a drone to view the location, confirming a body was likely under the water.
Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office and the Cowlitz County Dive Rescue Team helped recover the body, which was sent to the coroner's office.
The coroner is reviewing the cause and manner of death, as well as the woman's identity.

The body was reported found north of Riverside Drive and Mill Street on Tuesday, May 26 in Kelso.
