Inspire Washington's statewide tour to stop June 9 in Walla Walla with Cultural Futures

Currently on a share and listening tour, Inspire Washington will host an upcoming Cultural Futures event at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Fort Walla Walla Museum, 755 N.E. Myra Road.

"These events are very informative and relevant to your community. Plus, they want to hear from you and your community," said Sarah Jo Lightner, Methow Arts Alliance executive director. "These events help to shape Inspire Washington's long-term advocacy around arts, culture, heritage and science."

It's also a great way to start getting involved with Arts, Heritage and Science Day in Olympia, Lightner said in a news release.

"Eastern Washington has far less representation in Olympia, and we hope to build a strong coalition to help advocate for what our communities need now and into the future. Your voice and what your community needs is important, and Inspire Washington wants to hear from you," Lightner said.

She urges spreading the word about the event in newsletters, on social media, with creative communities, and hanging posters in the community.

Inspire Washington is the statewide advocacy organization for the cultural sector, promoting the value of science, heritage and arts programming.

Washington just concluded the state legislative session in Olympia with new funding and opportunities for the cultural sector, according to the release.

Inspire Washington is visiting communities across the state, from May 4 to June 26 in-person and three virtual events will be held from San Juan Island to Walla Walla, to also provide a thorough legislative overview and directions for accessing funding.
