Wenatchee homicide investigation ongoing

The Wenatchee Police Department is investigating the death of an unidentified person found Saturday by the owner of the Line-X of Wenatchee truck shop in South Wenatchee as a homicide.

The owner of the local business, who asked not to be identified, said he saw the body on the back porch of his business, which is located only a couple of feet from a train track, and was deeply disturbed about what he saw, having noticed a lot of blood around the body.

Police responded to his call at about 10:14 a.m., initially as a welfare check, and upon arriving at the scene, determined the individual was dead.

Chelan County Coroner Earl Crowe said the individual's autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Sgt. Joe Eaton on Monday did not respond to questions regarding the active investigation but said that police are in the very early phases of the investigation.

The police department is asking that anyone with working surveillance cameras in the area or anyone with related information to contact Det. Brian Hewitt by emailing him at bhewitt@wenatcheewa.gov or calling 509-888-4256.
