Dayton City Council taking applications for open position

Dayton City Council is seeking a new Position 7 council member after Mike Smith, who formerly held that position, was appointed as mayor last month.

The position is open to anyone who is a registered voter and has been a resident of Dayton for at least one year. The term for Position 7 ends Dec. 31, 2029.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest by Thursday, June 4. Letters of interest can be sent to City Clerk Deb Hays at dhays@daytonwa.com.

Interviews for the position will be conducted during the next City Council meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at City Hall, 111 S. First St. in Dayton.
