Walk and Knock announces new president and volunteer achievement award
VANCOUVER - Reese Carpenter took over the reins as president of Clark County Interservice Drive and Drop food drive, formerly Walk and Knock, during its annual meeting May 11.
Reese has served as board member, first vice president and logistics coordinator. He's been a longtime, active member of the Clark County Amateur Radio Club. He also serves as third vice president of the Battle Ground Lions Club.
Barb Yasson, longtime volunteer with the Drive & Drop/Walk & Knock food drive, has been awarded the annual Bud Pasmore Volunteer Achievement Award. Yasson has been a mainstay of the Clark County Amateur Radio Club for 31 years and for 30 years with the annual food drive.
The honor, named for Walk & Knock founder and first president Bud Pasmore, is presented annually to a Walk and Knock volunteer who has given of their time, energy and spirit to the annual Clark County food drive. Yasson is the sixth recipient.
The local radio club has provided the food drive with invaluable communications logistics support over the years. Yasson currently serves on the board as secretary for Drive and Drop.
