Skagit Valley College taking enrollment

Skagit Valley College is taking enrollment for summer and fall classes.

Summer quarter begins July 7, and fall quarter Sept. 22.

According to a Wednesday news release from the college, Skagit Valley College offers affordable, high-quality educational opportunities across its four campuses and centers: Mount Vernon, Whidbey Island, San Juan Center and the Marine Technology Center in Anacortes.

Students can save money by studying close to home while completing prerequisites, earning transfer degrees, or training for careers in one of SVC's workforce education programs. Opportunities range from allied health and advanced manufacturing to computer science, culinary arts, marine technology, and data management and analytics.

High school students can also get a head start on college through through the college's Running Start program. Eligible students can earn college credits while completing high school requirements, reducing the cost of higher education and exploring academic and career pathways before graduation.

In addition to Running Start, the college offers a variety of dual credit programs, community education classes, and basic education for adults options, including English Language Acquisition, GED preparation, and high school completion.

To support new students, the college offers information and application sessions from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays in Lewis Hall on the Mount Vernon campus and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays from in Oak Hall, Room 227, on the Whidbey Island campus. No appointment is necessary.
