Structure fire burns Circle Street home

A structure fire called in at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a home on the 700 block of Circle Street burned the first floor of the home as well as the attic, rendering the rooms a total loss.

Wenatchee Valley Fire Chief Jon Perry said that one resident was inside the home but was able to evacuate the burning structure himself with no reported injuries.

Firefighters had the fire under control at 4 p.m.

Perry said that the fire likely started somewhere on the ground level of the home and reached the attic, but he could not determine the cause.

Another residential home located 50 feet away with one occupant was not damaged by the fire. Perry also said that the hill located near the home was a concern for them due to the high winds Wednesday afternoon. Wind gusts were measured at more than 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The home is about a half-mile from the Saddle Rock Trailhead.
