Medical examiner: Vancouver woman whose body was found in Columbia River died by suicide

The Clark County Medical Examiner's Office said Wednesday that a Vancouver woman who went missing in March and whose body was later found in the Columbia River died from drowning and cyclobenzaprine toxicity.

The medical examiner's office ruled the death of 61-year-old Carrie Ann Winters a suicide, according to a news release. Cyclobenzaprine is a prescription muscle relaxant.

Winters was first reported missing in late March. She was last known to be near the Frenchman's Bar area of west Vancouver on March 27.

About 5 p.m. April 16, a person canoeing spotted Winters' body near the flushing channel that carries water from the Columbia River under Lower River Road into Vancouver Lake.

Vancouver police responded to assist with recovering Winters' body.
