More street work scheduled in Sedro-Woolley
SEDRO-WOOLLEY - Street work continues in Sedro-Woolley.
The closure of parts of Hodgin and Stendal streets that began May 26 and was set to end Friday has been extended until June 26.
The closure to traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily is necessary as construction of Batey Square continues.
Access to The Depot Apartments at West Sedro Station and Backspins, which are at 953 Hodgin St., is available off Hodgin Street.
Batey Square at 1010 Hodgin St. is a five-story, mixed-use building featuring a commercial ground floor and 138 units on the upper four floors.
In a news release, the city of Sedro-Woolley said the reason for extending the road closure was that "the project is taking the contractor a little longer than expected."
Also, Monday through Wednesday work on Bingham Place will create minor traffic delays as crews perform asphalt grinding to remove the old surface followed by installation of new asphalt.
On Tuesday, the alley between Metcalf and Murdock streets north of Woodworth Street will be closed while crews do pavement repair.
Also Tuesday, access to the Bark Park at Riverfront Park will be closed during paving operations, though Riverfront Park will remain open with single-lane traffic during paving operations.
