Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival to return to Chelan County Expo Center

Bluegrass fans from across the Northwest will gather in Cashmere as the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival returns to the Chelan County Expo Center June 19-21.

Presented by Cashmere Community Concerts, the annual festival draws musicians, campers and music enthusiasts to the valley for three days of performances, workshops and jam sessions, providing an early-summer boost to local tourism and businesses.

This year's lineup features Appalachian Road Show, Southern Legacy, the Rick Faris Band, Vickie Vaughn and Pacific Northwest group Westbound Sky.

Main stage performances begin at 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Festival activities also include instrument workshops for adults and youth, a slow jam session designed for developing musicians, food and merchandise vendors and a Sunday morning gospel show featuring Appalachian Road Show, the Rick Faris Band and Westbound Sky.

Taylor's Camp, a youth instruction program led by musician Jake Monroe, will offer workshops intended to introduce young performers to bluegrass music and help preserve the genre for future generations.

Camping opens June 15, with festival organizers hosting a camper meet-and-greet luau June 18.

Held at the Chelan County Expo Center, 5700 Wescott Ave., the festival has become a longtime tradition for bluegrass enthusiasts in North Central Washington, attracting visitors from throughout the region while showcasing Cashmere and the Wenatchee Valley.
