Viva Farms has change in leadership

Viva Farms has named Rob Smith interim CEO following the resignation of Michael Frazier.

Smith has been with the nonprofit for 12 years, most recently as chief programs and operations officer.

Viva Farms is a farming incubator program with locations in Skagit and King counties. The program supports 36 farms.

Frazier held the CEO position at Viva for 12 years.

Viva Farms Board President Noa Kay wished Frazier well in a Thursday email announcing the leadership change.

"(Frazier) contributed meaningfully to building this organization into what it is today," Kay said.

Smith has played a key role in building programs and infrastructure at Viva Farms, according to the email announcement.

"We are excited about this change and what it means for the future of the organization," Kay said.

According to the email announcement, while leadership changes are underway at the nonprofit, the staff remains committed to helping its farmers, and the community-supported agriculture produce boxes will continue to be delivered throughout western Washington.
