West Kelso home fire extinguished

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire at a single-family home on Sunday morning.

At about 6:30 a.m., crews responded to a house on the 300 block of Southwest Third Ave. in West Kelso regarding a fire at a two-story family residence, according to a Cowlitz 2 notice.

The fire was extinguished, and one occupant was evaluated for smoke inhalation.

Some of the home was damaged.

The residence is across the street from the Cowlitz County Coroner's Office and Trainer Center, located at 206 Washington St.

Both the Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue and the Longview Fire Department responded to the scene.
