Deputy City Manager Amy Buckler to move on from Centralia leadership

The City of Centralia will say goodbye to one of its highest ranking officials later this month.

Centralia Deputy City Manager Amy Buckler will work her last day in the role July 17 before she transitions to a new job with the Washington state Department of Commerce.

"Over the past three years, I have been privileged to work with this community on so many projects - from planting trees to improving sports facilities at Borst Park to the United Learning Center, other projects in downtown and beyond," Buckler said. "Centralia will always be in my heart, and I am excited for what comes next for this charming little city."

Buckler has worked for the City of Centralia for just over three years and came to the job from a long background of working in city administration.

She started as an administrative assistant with the City of Lacey roughly 20 years ago and spent nearly 16 years in various roles at the City of Olympia, including as a strategic project manager.

In Centralia, Buckler has helped the city run its parks department.

A going away potluck event will be held for Buckler on July 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fort Borst Park Kitchen No. 2.
