The event is an annual 207-mile ride put on by Seattle's Cascade Bicycle Club between the major cities and lasts up to two days on Saturday and Sunday. The club reports that roughly 5,500 people join the event annually.
The official race route through Cowlitz County goes along West Side Highway and First Avenue between Vader and Longview, then cuts across town on State Route 432/Industrial Way to take the Lewis and Clark Bridge into Oregon. Drivers and cyclists are advised to be cautious along the route.
Riverside Park in Lexington will be used as one of the official rest stops for the race. The park's designated hours as a rest stop are from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
