Azshara Riley Metcalf is set to appear in Cowlitz County Superior Court next week to set a trial date.

A physician's assistant at PeaceHealth Lakefront Primary Care Clinic off Kessler Boulevard told police Metcalf elbowed him in the stomach during an April 17 appointment after denying her request to be prescribed painkillers, according to court records.

When interviewed by police, Metcalf first denied touching the physician's assistant, but then said she likely touched him when trying to open the door to leave the examining room.

She also said the provider wasn't "taking her seriously," according to the police report that led to her arrest.

Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Thad Scudder ordered Metcalf be released on her personal recognizance on April 20 during her first appearance in court.

At the time, she was a Mark Morris High School student, but hadn't been to school in a month.

Scudder ordered that Metcalf attend all her classes at Mark Morris High School, not possess or consume any intoxicants, and follow her parents' orders.

Metcalf pleaded not guilty on April 27 and has no felony records, court records show.

She is charged with third-degree assault of a health care worker.
