Edelweiss Air cancels Seattle-Zurich summer flights
Edelweiss Air has discontinued its flights between Seattle and Zurich, effective immediately, as it makes adjustments in its summer flight schedule, the airline said Thursday.
It joins other carriers making adjustments to offset rising jet fuel costs from the U.S.-Israel war with Iran.
In addition to Seattle, Edelweiss removed Denver from its summer flight schedule and reduced the frequency of its Las Vegas route for early summer and fall. The changes to the Swiss airline's North American routes this summer came due to "ongoing effects of the geopolitical situation, particularly in connection with the Middle East conflict, the development of fuel prices, and declining demand for certain destinations in the USA," according to Edelweiss' announcement.
Affected passengers will be contacted by Edelweiss or their booking agent, according to the airline, which said such travelers can either be rebooked on alternative flights or receive a full refund of the airfare.
Edelweiss, Switzerland's leading leisure airline, launched its Seattle-Zurich route in summer 2025, running twice per week. Seattle was the airline's fourth destination in the U.S.
