3 dead, 1 injured in car crash near Monroe

Three people died and another was injured in a head-on car crash early Saturday near Monroe.

A 2015 Cadillac SRX was headed west on Highway 2 around 12:18 a.m. Saturday when the driver attempted to pass a vehicle about 2 miles east of Monroe. The Cadillac collided with a 2004 Dodge Dakota headed east, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said Jose Hernandez Ibanez, 26, of Tacoma, was driving the Cadillac. He died at the scene. A 28-year-old passenger in his vehicle was injured and taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

The Dodge's driver, Maryanne Craig, 33, and passenger Dylon Craig, also 33, were killed. Both were Gold Bar residents.

Troopers were investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
