Delta launching Sea-Tac Airport's first nonstop service to Spain
For the first time ever, travelers will be able to fly nonstop from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Spain, as Delta Air Lines launches its Seattle-Barcelona flight this week.
Delta's new nonstop service will start Thursday and run three times per week. The airline is also rolling out nonstop flights to Rome - which are four times per week - on Wednesday. Passengers will board Delta's next-generation Airbus A330-900neo for both services.
"Delta's commitment runs deep in Seattle, from our people on the ground to our global ambitions in the skies," said President Glen Hauenstein in an announcement last year.
With Delta's additions, Sea-Tac now hosts nonstop flights to 37 international destinations, according to Perry Cooper, the airport's media relations manager.
That includes Alaska Airlines, which launched its own nonstop flight to Rome last Tuesday.
