Is Dick's Drive-In opening a new burger joint south of Seattle?

Despite a blogger's hopeful post, hometown burger chain Dick's Drive-In does not currently have plans to open an 11th outlet in Renton.

The blogger, former Renton City Council member Randy Corman, wrote a post entitled Dick's Drive-In explores coming to Renton via pre-application submittal; I hope they come!" In the post that published Tuesday, Corman noted that Dick's management had "come in for a pre-application conference, including making a formal submission to the city of Renton.

While Dick's CEO Jasmine Donovan confirmed that such a meeting did take place, she said this week that it was "just part of our due diligence process," and that while the company has been looking at the location "on and off for over 5 years now," there are no current plans to move forward with opening a branch of Dick's in Renton.

The chain opened its 10th location last June in Everett. Dick's also operates five branches in Seattle and satellites in Bellevue, Edmonds, Federal Way and Kent.
