Teen shot in head in South Seattle, police say

A teen was hospitalized after being shot in the head Friday night in South Seattle, police say, near the Rainier Beach light rail station.

Seattle police responded to reports of a person shot Friday just before midnight. They found a 19-year-old with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head near 32nd Avenue South and South Chicago Street, according to a blotter post. The teen was transported to Harborview Medical Center and remained in critical condition hours later.

Police believe the shooter or shooters fired at the teen's car multiple times and injured him near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Henderson Street. The shooter or shooters drove away before officers arrived. Seattle police didn't make any arrests. Police found dozens of shell casings and impounded two vehicles, according to a police blotter post.
