3 hurt in shooting outside Capitol Hill nightclub

Three men were shot outside of the Cultura nightclub on Capitol Hill early Monday morning after an altercation, according to Seattle police.

Three people suspected in the shooting have not been arrested, said police spokesperson Detective Brian Pritchard.

The altercation broke out at about 1:10 a.m. between three men and security guards at the nightclub in the 900 block of East Pike Street, Pritchard said. When the three men were walking away, at least one turned back and fired multiple shots toward the club.

The shots hit three men who hadn't been involved in the altercation, Pritchard said. One was critically injured and two were seriously injured.

Police officers responded shortly after, providing aid to the wounded men until first responders took them to Harborview Medical Center, Pritchard said. By 10 a.m., the seriously injured men were in satisfactory condition, according to hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg.

The three men suspected in the shooting ran away and have not been found, Pritchard said.

Police said they detained a couple of people at the club but released them after determining that they were not involved.

The street was blocked off with emergency vehicles for a couple of hours between Broadway and 10th Avenue, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
