Boy, 16, shot and killed in Federal Way

Police were searching for a suspect after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Monday night in Federal Way.

Federal Way police responded around 9:38 p.m. to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex on the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, according to a release by the police department.

Officers arrived and located a 16-year-old male in the parking lot with gunshot wounds," according to the release. "Officers and medics provided emergency medical aid, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police were seeking a 28-year-old man in connection with the shooting and said that the two knew each other. Anybody with information can call the Federal Way Police Department's non‑emergency number at 253‑835‑2121.
