Person of interest sought in suspected homicides in Pierce County

The Pierce County sheriff's office and Tacoma Police are searching for a person of interest in two suspected homicides.

The sheriff's office is searching for 24-year-old Hayes McCloud, who could be armed.

On July 8 at 2:40 a.m., deputies responded to a call at the 12500 block of Woodland Avenue East outside of Puyallup, where they found a 35-year-old man dead. The sheriff's office said that it appears there was violent encounter in a bedroom that led outside the home.

At 3:04 a.m. the same morning, Tacoma Police responded to the sound of gunshots at 6900 block of East D Street. Police found an adult male who was pronounced dead at the scene. The deaths happened about 30 minutes apart from each other.

The sheriff's office said both suspected homicides appear to be targeted but the motive is currently unknown.

The sheriff's office said anyone who encounters McCloud should call 911.
