Yeah, it’s chilly today. But summer will return in time for the long Labor Day weekend
If the chilly rain that blew through Olympia Sunday night sent you running for a warmer comforter and a sweater, keep your shorts, tank tops and fans around just a little while longer.
While Monday was overcast and a coolish 73 — just a little below normal — full-on summer will return for the long Labor Day weekend and beyond.
“Summer will be back very soon,” said Matthew Pullin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle, told The Seattle Times.
From Tuesday through Thursday, highs are expected to be back in the low 80s, and then the summer fun really begins again.
Labor Day weekend will be bookended by days where highs will reach nearly 90, with Saturday and Sunday hitting the mid-80s. That could mean overflowing crowds anywhere with public access to the water.
And heading into the first day of school (or remote learning) on Wednesday, Sept. 9, highs are expected to be in the mid 90s. Not idea for long days indoors.
