At 10:10 p.m. on Monday, the NWS Spokane WA released an updated dust advisory in effect until 11:15 p.m. for Whitman County.
"At 10:08 p.m., a trained spotter reported localized blowing dust around Oakesdale. Localized visibility was between 1/4 and 1/2 mile in spots," states the NWS. "This includes U.S. Highway 195 in Washington between mile markers 53 and 62."
Locations impacted by the advisory include Oakesdale, Belmont, Thornton and Pine City.
"Hazardous travel," describes the NWS. "Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake."
This advisory is in effect until 11:15 p.m.
