A fire weather watch was released by the NWS Pendleton OR on Sunday at 11:26 a.m. valid for Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Lower Columbia Basin.

Residents can expect winds to be west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 19%.

"Windy conditions and low relative humidity will combine with dry fuels resulting in potential for wildfire spread," explains the NWS. "Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended."

This watch is in effect until Tuesday at 11 p.m.
