Professional athletes should leave opinions at home

When a player of a sport reaches the level to play that particular sport for a professional team, personal attitudes, or lack thereof, should play a significant role in determining to who the team is trying to serve.

Standing with the player, the team is giving the player a pedestal on which to voice an opinion. Doing so obliterates the reason for watching this team, also funding this particular team in all its endeavors.

The public and private contributors are being dictated in what is allowed and shown that no other opinions matter.
