This texter nearly bit the dust

To the woman driver who, on Tuesday Sept. 7, was inches away from causing a multi-car wreck because you were texting:

As my husband drove west on State Avenue, you turned from a side street directly into his lane, facing his car, (now driving the wrong way on a one-way street.) My husband immediately swerved into the right lane,causing the driver behind him to jam on his brakes, and three cars in the lane to his right to screech to a halt.

When my son, a passenger in my husband’s car, looked across the road you had pulled into a parking lot and gave a little wave and a smile as if to say, “Sorry.I was texting.” Had you given any thought at all, to the kids who were with you?

People who text while driving need to form a club called “Loved Ones of the Killed Or Injured Because of Texting or Not Wearing a Seat Belt.”
