Skinder for Thurston County Superior Court Judge

I recently retired from 20 years of working as the medical director of the St. Peter Hospital Sexual Assault Clinic. My clinic provided services to adult victims of sexual assault and children who had been victims of sexual abuse and physical abuse. During many of those years I had the pleasure to work very closely with John Skinder in his role as the lead prosecutor of the Thurston County Prosecutor's Special Victims team.

John provided strong leadership for our multidisciplinary team. He demonstrated deep knowledge and understanding of the law. He showed a great balance of protection of victims with recognition of the legal rights of the accused. His compassion for victims and sense of fairness was extraordinary, even among other professionals in the field. He is a hard worker. He cares about our community. He is highly intelligent with outstanding problem solving skills. In short,

John will be an asset to our judicial system and an outstanding judge.
