John “Hutch” Hutchings for commissioner
We have a choice to make this November. I have concerns with Jim Cooper. He doesn't have the experience needed for the demands of county commissioner.
Having spent 31 years at Thurston County Road Dept. 12 of those as road supervisor, you have to look no further than the condition of Olympia's streets. As finance director for Olympia city council Mr. Cooper diverts funding from public safety and infrastructure to his special interest projects. These are the kinds of choices that will have Thurston County fighting more lawsuits for bad judgment.
Electing Mr. Cooper will be a continuation of failures left behind by previous commissioners, many of which include loss of property rights and harsh environmental policies. He talks most about a $15 per hour minimum wage. Economists have shown this has a negative effect on business, and doesn't help workers.
John Hutchings has devoted his entire adult life to public service, he is a moderate voice, and won't make a decision until he has listened to all points of view. He has volunteered on many boards and commissions during his career. He has spent countless hours advocating for the homeless and the mental health population in our community. John is the person we need for our next Thurston County Commissioner. Please vote John Hutchings this November.
