Put voting on your to-do list
We’re all very busy with our families, our work, our community activities, keeping in shape; it’s hard to find time to think some days. And then, we have to vote? We have to plow through the voter pamphlet that came in the mail, find that ballot that also came in the mail, figure out when we’re going to find the time to actually vote for people and issues! And then, we have to find a stamp and put the ballot in the mail, or take it to a ballot drop box.
You have to wonder — did the women and men who marched and demonstrated and agitated for the women’s right to vote think about all of the hassle it would be to actually vote? Did all the people who marched and demonstrated and fought for civil rights and their right to vote think about what a hassle it would be? No — they thought it would be an act that mattered! And so it does — every single vote matters and every voice matters! Please, take time to vote — it’s a great privilege and one that we should honor. You can take great satisfaction in crossing vote off your to-do list. Do it before Nov. 8. You won’t regret it!
