Vote Democrat get it right

Quality businesses choose to locate where their employees can expect a high quality of life. Good schools, parks and recreational areas, a healthy environment, preservation of natural places and strong infrastructure contribute to quality of life. A vibrant arts scene, care for historic places and investment in cultural activities are the icing on the cake in Thurston County. Jim Cooper and Kelsey Hulse can be trusted to sustain those values. That’s what Democrats do.

Both Hutch and Edwards have a strong law enforcement bias already representing a huge percentage of the county budget. They are hardly independent as they claim. A thousand Hutch signs won’t convince me otherwise.

At least Kim Wyman owns up to her allegiance to Republican values. Sadly, they’re all about voter suppression. She wouldn’t get support from the GOP if she didn’t follow the party line. Want proof? Voter participation has decreased across Washington since she took office.

Tina Podlodowski promises to work to increase voter participation. I believe her. She understands just how important voting and an equitable election system are to a functioning, flourishing democracy.

Democratic values are aligned with religious values—feed the poor or give tax breaks to the super rich? Comfort the old and disabled or cut Social Security? Build bridges that unite or build walls that divide? Dems are always on the good side of these questions.

I urge you to vote for Jim Cooper and Kelsey Hulse for County Commission and Tina Podlodowski for Secretary of State.
