Wife of a Marine speaks out

My husband, Robert, is a Marine and the son of State Rep. Drew MacEwen. Recently Drew has been criticized by his opponent for missed votes. This past year my husband was deployed with his Marine unit while I was pregnant. On Feb. 12, I gave birth to our second daughter. With Robert being gone, I asked Drew to watch our other daughter while I was in labor.

He of course agreed to do so, but in so doing he missed a number of votes in the House of Representatives. That was a choice he made to take care of his son’s family while his son was deployed protecting our freedom. That Drew’s opponent would twist this for political gain is a slap in the face to every military family that deals with special circumstances when their loved ones are deployed.

Please consider this as you cast your vote, and I am proud to support Drew MacEwen for reelection.
