False statements in political advertising
In 2014 the United States Supreme Court ruled that politicians have a right to lie regarding their opponents Chief Justice Roberts argued, “for politicians, lying is a religious observance akin to attending church or synagogue, except they do it seven days a week.”
A Kelsey Hulse flyer makes false allegations regarding Sheriff Gary Edwards. Those allegation accuse him of costing taxpayers money, mocking the sex offender law, and okaying illegal hunting, Edwards was frugal with taxpayer dollars. He had no control over pre-trial settlements by the prosecutor. He never mocked sex offender laws, the Thurston County Sheriff’s office created the sex offender law. He never ok’d illegal hunting and supported strict enforcement of hunting laws. He advised county residents they had a right to shoot a dangerous cougar endangering lives.
It is interesting that candidate Hulse made a racial profiling claim against Edwards, she has accepted thousands of dollars from J. Z. Knight. She doesn’t care that the Washington State Democratic party divested funds give by Knight in 2012 after a video tape was published showing her making racist statements against Mexicans and statements that were anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, and anti-gay..
I support Gary Edwards for Thurston County Commissioner He will always be wise in spending money, and fair and helpful in dealing with all people, he will be tough when dealing with laws regarding sex offenders. Please join me in voting for the candidate whose integrity is above question, Gary Edwards.
