Political correctness has run amok

I've never been a big fan of political correctness at the expense of honesty and candor, but I had no idea how far it can go.

As Alice in Wonderland said, It gets curiouser and curiouser. I thought we had gone about as far as possible when I read about "safe zones" provided by universities so fragile college students could hide out and not listen to meanies say things they didn't want to hear. As they say in the infomercials, But Wait! There's More!

Now our DOC has mandated that prisoners be referred to as individuals. The rationale seems to be that it will enhance rehabilitation. Permit me to doubt. What about their victims? Shall we call them something else so they don't feel so victimized by the "individuals" who assaulted, raped, and robbed them?

Let's just call people what they are and if felons who have victimized others can't cope with it, tough on them. Meanwhile DOC can concentrate on other issues like correcting a system that released "individuals" before their release was authorized.
