Only united can we stand

We suffered through a fractious year of political campaigning. The votes were cast, Donald Trump is president-elect and it is time to respect the millions of Americans, an electoral majority, who voted for him. This is the sixth time the popular vote did not win the electoral votes!

Many of us did not vote for Obama, we never-the-less honored the will of the majority, and lived with the results.

From the recent election we can only glean that millions of Americans were not happy with what has been happening in our country and they were unwilling to go another four years with Obama-like politics. Many just flat out did not want or trust Hillary. Those are the facts. There are those who do not like the outcome of this election; it happens every time a President is elected!

I am sick and tired of the protesters causing emotional mayhem and public and private damage; over a million dollars in Portland! They should be in jail. Americans have the right to assemble peacefully; we do not have the right to harm others or property just because we disagree. They are interrupting small businesses, and this is the time of year they make it or don't.

The politics in America is a revolving door and sometimes you’re eating cake and sometimes you’re eating bitters but it’s America, my friends, and we are truly fortunate to live in these United States.

So, let's act like the free and fortunate people that we are.
