H.L. Mencken had it right

After reading the Friday, Nov. 18 letters to the editor, that Trump's election reflects God's plan, and Americans had a clear choice with Trump, and then that the protesters are the real "deplorables": I thought about a quote I just read, written almost 100 years ago but, in my opinion, hits the nail. This from columnist H.L. Mencken in the Baltimore Evening Sun on July 26, 1920.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the President reflects more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts' desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron."
