Police opinion should not be expressed

Recently the Olympia chief of police expressed his personal opinion about the Port of Olympia protest by stating he did not like having his police being used to protect the Port of Olympia from the protesters.

This is wrong and the chief of police should never express his personal opinion while in his office because it is required that the police protect all businesses and citizens from others who break the law. The police are suppose to protect all citizens and businesses no matter what their opinion is as long as they are not breaking the law.

For example, how would you feel if I was the chief of police and I blamed Planned Parenthood for protesters that blocked people from using their facility for abortion.
