Fund public schools with carbon tax

Gov. Inslee’s plan to help fund public education by imposing a $25 fee or tax on every metric ton of carbon emissions starting in the 2018 fiscal year is an excellent idea. We definitely need a tax or fee on carbon emissions in order to discourage the use of fossil fuels.

We also need a way to raise taxes to fund education. Tax something we want to discourage the use of and use the revenue from that tax to fund something we want to improve.
