Mental health reform on the horizon?

Yes, Governor Inslee! Yes! Your proposal to “revamp state’s mental health system” is the best news so far. No more persons with mental illness stuck into a cheap motel with a sack of groceries and no can opener (yes, this happened in our family.)

Fewer homeless — not always because of drugs, as so many assume — but because they suffer from a sickness called mental illness. You show compassion for this population. I pray that your proposals succeed at every level. Thus far, Washington state is at the bottom rung of them all, when it comes to addressing mental health reform.
