Election result is a done deal

Patricia Ziobron there you go again in your letter of May 5. You can call President Trump anything you want — freedom of speech is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution. Regardless of what you call him he won the election and is the president.

Clinton lost and should gracefully disappear from public view. As the President Trump has been able to appoint a US Attorney General who has stated he will enforce federal drug laws. He has also appointed a Supreme Court Justice that supports the Constitution rather than popular public fads.

Perhaps you want Washington state to join California and attempt to succeed from the US. That was tried before by a group of Democratic state governors because they disagreed with the election of a Republican president. That didn’t turnout well for the Confederate states nor their governors.

You think popular vote should be the rule, but you don’t think counties in Washington with Republican majorities should be able to violate state laws. You need to take one side or the other. I feel sorry for you. You will have an unhappy eight years just as many did for the last eight years. The Second Amendment allows millions of law abiding US citizens to own firearms unlike owning illegal drugs. It must be hard for you.
