Why can't we have good schools?

The June 10 Olympian reports that Washington has the nation’s best economy. With such good economic news, it is a disgrace that Washington has the No. 1 most regressive tax system and our schools rank 26 out of 50 in quality.

ThinkAdvisor reports in Washington the poor pay the largest effective tax rates (16.9 percent) and the rich pay the least (2.8 percent). WalletHub reports quality of education ranking by state and notes that income is higher in states where the workforce is well educated.

Our state GOP senate majority refuses to use new revenue sources to make the rich pay their fair share.

Ask your state representatives why Washington can’t have good schools!
