High temperatures cancels flights
Recently, American Airlines had to cancel more than 40 flights in Phoenix, Ariz. because of exceptionally high temperatures. Because hot air is thinner, it makes it difficult for planes to generate enough lift for take-offs and landings.
Climate change is coming and it is coming faster than many scientists originally predicted. The sooner we tackle the problem of climate change the easier it will be so solve. There are presently four carbon tax bills before the Washington State Legislature and the Citizens Climate Lobby is promoting a fee and dividend plan nationally. There are plenty of opportunities for our state and federal legislators to act and do something to solve the problem of climate change.
