Please ban fireworks everywhere

Tuesday afternoon, I became aware of random fireworks. As evening approached, they became more frequent. Large “booms” shook my home. I had thought that there was a fireworks ban in Thurston County.

Wrong. Somehow it had been suspended. As the evening progressed, the random booms, whistles and pops became almost unendurable. Both me and my dogs were unnerved by this constant barrage. Finally, I called 911 to complain. My main concern was my golden retrievers who were visibly upset.

When I voiced my concern to the 911 operator I was told “Pets don’t matter.” Really? What has happened to my hometown? Pets should always matter! Yet last night a bunch of uncouth, insensitive, beer guzzling folks stole the entire night from me and my pets.

I was unable to sleep until midnight, thanks to the new permissive county rules. it is time to stop this insane behavior. If you want to hear warfare, move to Syria!
