Thank you for compassion

Thank you for the kind words about Jessica Hanson. I understand many people may feel anger towards her.

For those who may have forgotten, she was the mom who left her 5-month-old child on a lawn in Lakewood. I didn’t know Jessica but I do know addiction. Jessica was struggling mightily to battle her demons. She had a family who loved and understood her. She was trying so hard to recover when she was hit and killed.

Thank you for printing a headlined story stating the good in Jessica. Maybe it can help others know addiction grabs people and doesn’t care who. Thank you for telling people about the good in Jessica. About her love for her kids and her struggles to do as good as she could. Thank you for allowing us to see the good in her, to remember her the way her family does, as a wonderful woman who made mistakes but was overcoming them, who loved her children...thank you.

Rest in Peace Jessica.
