Common sense party lesson
I want to thank Mr. Anvik from Shelton for his well written summation of changes across the years of the Democratic Party. In my youth, I very much aligned with this party, but now, the saying is, if you aren’t a Dem in your 20s you have no heart, if you are still a Dem in your 30s you have no brain. That saying has risen in my lifetime, which is too bad, as the Democrats once stood equally for the people, didn’t encourage dependence on the government, and didn’t spend most of their time on making trouble.
Watching our local government find ways not to support programs (read education for one) is disheartening at least and disgusting at most. I rarely can have a discussion with current Democrats without eye rolling, personal attacks or general heated air. At 63, I am aware and have lived through many of our current historical events and am saddened how history is re-written by those that weren’t even born during those times. So, thank you Mr. Anvik for your overview of what I, too, know to be the evolution of a once balanced government party.
