Boy Scout speech showed no shame

Does the “president” have any moral compass? I watched, with dismay, as Trump spoke to the Boy Scouts, saying he was not there to talk politics and then proceeded to talk politics. He said Washington, D.C. was not a swamp, but a sewer. What a message! He probably feels children are the only audience that won’t come back to bite him “wherever.”

Yet again, when Trump should be extolling the Boy Scouts (e.g., what a great organization it is, admiring the achievements of the Boy Scouts in attendance, the potential that exists from the things they learn in the Boy Scouts, how to be a good citizen, etc.), the man talks about himself — the only subject he seems to have any real interest in, regardless of how delusional it is.

It is incomprehensible that the Boy Scouts of America would name Trump as their “honorary president.” The American president should be a role model for all children. This is a man who lies constantly and who claimed that because he is wealthy, he can grab women by the genitals. This is the man who claimed he could walk down the street in New York City and kill someone, and no one would do anything to him. Is this the kind of man parents want their sons to be when they are grown?

The spectacle was reminiscent of Hitler Youth rallies. The man has no shame. Everyone should have serious concerns about the consequences of Trump’s self-centered and anti-American messages.
