Give Amtrak a co-pilot please

Once again Amtrak is at fault for a wreck. This one at the Chambers Bay draw bridge. Why does Amtrak and the many commuter rails about our country have only one person at the controls? It seems like a no-brainer to put two competent people in the cockpit. Do that and the incidents will decrease.

Instead of doing the obvious Amtrak and many others are pushing the freight railroads to spend a gazzilion bucks on PTC. What’s PTC? That’s some super computerized train operating system that’s supposedly going to stop the wrecks. Computers have glitches and I doubt it will work as intended.
