Support Bill McGregor for Port Commissioner
Port of Olympia Commissioner Bill McGregor is never the loudest person in the room, but he is the most effective because he makes reasoned, evidence based decisions on the matters that come before the Commission after listening to all points of view.
The Port of Olympia is on its way to the century mark (2022) and Commissioner Bill McGregor deserves some credit for shaping its future for the last decade – including the Small Cities program which supports Yelm, Tenino, Rainier and Bucoda economic development in return for the Port taxes their citizens pay, the donation of land to LOTT for performing its wastewater treatment services, the sale of Port property to the Hands on Children’s Museum which is one of the county’s great kid destinations, absorbing the all-volunteer Harbor Patrol into the Port’s budget, Master Planning for the Airport industrial properties and the associated work on a Habitat Conservation Plan with Tumwater, and support for family wage jobs like the lease of a union hall for the ILWU. Commissioner McGregor has earned re-election, so please vote for him in November.
