Bill McGregor: Steering the port in right direction

Bill McGregor is steering the port in the right direction.

Bill is strongly committed to environmental stewardship and encouraged the port to conduct the first Greenhouse Gas Inventory and install solar panels on the marine terminal. He supported solar street lighting at the CleanWater Centre in Tumwater.

He is a strong labor supporter. Bill has steered the port toward investments that create family wage jobs in Thurston County. These include jobs resulting from the marine terminal, as well as port investments in Tumwater and the new project in Lacey.

Bill is committed to the Farmers Market and encourages the port’s support of local farms. The Port of Olympia has partnered with the Washington Farm Bureau, WSU Extension, Thurston County Economic Development Council and Thurston Conservation District on the South Puget Sound Agricultural Producer Needs Assessment. The Washington Farm Bureau has recognized Bill’s efforts with their endorsement.

He has been a leader in promoting economic development county-wide through the port’s Small Cities Program which serves Bucoda, Rainier, Tenino and Yelm.

Bill is active in our community and is committed to strong ethics, open government, civic consciousness and citizen’s participation.

Please elect Bill McGregor, the clear choice for Port Commissioner and keep the port headed in the right direction.

Jim Burton, Olympia
